Today was a great day for an open house for my townhouse condo at Trailside at Cranmore Mountain Resort! The timing of such plentiful, early snow in the valley and the holiday weekend has been ideal! People seemed to have had enough with all the retail activities and came out for a little taste of what White Mountain Living has to offer. I haven’t had a chance to check with my peers around the valley but I assume that everyone had some crowds today.
North Conway NH is hopping
Interestingly, although many people call this entire area “North Conway”, from Bartlett and Jackson down to Tamworth. The truth is that North Conway is a village district within the Town of Conway, and as such, the ONLY ski resort in Conway – North Conway NH is Cranmore Mountain Resort. There are only 2 condominium complexes at Cranmore Mountain; Kearsarge Brook is the new, base area condo building and at some point in the future it will be part of a complex of buildings that make up a renovated Cranmore Mountain. Prices start around $400k for around 1200sf of living area. The other complex is Trailside at Cranmore, where I am the listing agent for Unit 40 at $329,000.
Trailside was built in the late 1980s and fits the original model for ski in and ski out resort condominium. The townhouse style creates better feel of separation and allows for walk-out, by way of the deck, ski in – ski out access for each and every unit. The road ( Kandahar Lane) runs up through the Trailside at Cranmore development along the North side of Cranmore Mountain at the Lower Skimeister Trail. This means that only the units on the right (coming up the mountain) have actual ski in and ski out access, not to be confused with “trail access”, which usually means a walk or short drive to community access points. The ski in ski out units vary from 100 ft or so to actual trailside, which is more like 20-30 ft. The top 4 buildings are the closest to the trail and offer the longest runs. Unit 40 is in the 3rd building from the top and is approx. 20 ft to Lower Skimeister.
Compared to many of the Northeast’s ski mountain condos, the units at Trailside at Cranmore still maintain a contemporary look and they feel solid. In many ways this is the best value you could find in a North Conway condominium. The location itself, surrounded by mountain views and the mountain landscape makes you aware of where you actually are ALL THE TIME. From pulling in on a star lit evening to the drama of a snowstorm raging on the mountain while you stay warm by the fireplace, the EXPERIENCE is as genuine of an alpine resort as you can get within 3 hrs of Downtown Crossing.
